Styles
The pictures show our current styles. If you are interested in a hat that is different from those pictured, contact us to discuss a custom order.

Hatbox's hats and bridal veils are made entirely by hand using traditional millinery techniques and are "blocked" (shaped) by hand instead of by a mechanical press. Hatbox's creations are sewn by hand so that all the stitches are hidden and no glue is used. Many other companies glue trim on their hats. Because we sew every feather and ribbon in place, our creations will not fall apart with one wearing and will last for generations.

Most hat companies, even those claiming that their product is handmade, will use a machine to sew the edge of the brim or the band inside the crown, leaving obvious stitches that detract from the beauty of the hat. By carefully placing each stitch by hand, the sewn areas of Hatbox's hats show only the elegance of the hat without the stitches.

Fabrics
Our hats are pictured in the fabric in which they are currently available. Other fabrics may be available upon request. If you would like a fabric that is not listed on the order form, specify the fabric you want in the "Additional Comments" box. We will contact you via e-mail to confirm whether or not your requested fabric is available.

Colors
The hats are pictured in the color in which they are currently available. Other colors may be available upon request. If you would like a color that is not listed on the order form, specify the color you want in the "Additional Comments" box. We will contact you via e-mail to confirm whether or not your requested color is available. If you are matching an outfit, please mail us a swatch of the fabric you want to match.

Hat Sizing
To find your head size, measure around the fullest part of your head, above your eyebrows (in the same place you would wear your hat). The size in inches is your hat size. Average for a woman is 22 1/2".

• Extra Small fits 21" to 21 1/2"
  
• Small fits 21 1/2" to 22"
  
• Medium fits 22" to 22 1/2"
  
• Large fits 22 1/2" to 23"
  
• Extra Large fits 23" to 23 1/2"

If you fall between sizes, choose the larger of the two. Upon request, we can provide you with foam tape that can be placed inside the hat to reduce the size. We may be able to make hats smaller than 21" or larger than 23 1/2" upon request, depending on the style desired. Please contact us to discuss your special sizing needs.

Linings
Hatbox hats are beautifully finished and all felt hats are lined with light blue taffeta. (Since straw hats are usually worn during the warmer months, traditionally they are not lined to allow the head to breathe.) Of course, the lining is sewn, not glued, in place.

Care Instructions
Do not wash or get wet. Hatbox products have not been weatherproofed. To clean, brush gently with a soft bristle brush. To remove wrinkles in veiling or trim, carefully iron on the "nylon" setting or take to a professional dry cleaning establishment.
